VA Energy Efficient Mortgage (EEM)

The VA EEM gives borrowers the option of additional funds to finance energy efficient improvements. The EEM can provide:

• Up to $3,000 in improvements based solely on the documented costs; or
• Up to $6,000 provided an increase in monthly mortgage payment does not exceed the likely reduction in monthly utility costs
• More than $6,000? Financing is possible, and subject to a value determined by the VA
